Hypospadias - Multi-Record Landing Page (Child, Male) [English] Public
Hypospadias is a condition affecting the penis. Sometimes when boys are born, the opening of the penis (meatus) is not at the tip. Instead, it is lower on the head of the penis or along the shaft of the penis. In more rare cases, the opening is on the scrotum or at the perineum. The perineum is the area between the scrotum and the anus. Boys born with hypospadias [say: hi-po-SPADE-ee-as] may also have some of their foreskin missing. They may also have a curved penis called a chordee. Hypospadias is more common than people imagine. It is just that people tend not to speak about it. (English)
