If there is a severe enough disruption in one's ability to maintain a basic level of functioning, it may require the support of a mental health emergency team or, in some cases, the assistance of the police. Opioid Medicines: Information for Patients and Families [English] Permalink Public
To comply with Part C, Division 1 of the Food and Drug Regulations for drugs on Part A of the "List of Opioids", pharmacists and practitioners must provide this patient information handout from Health Canada at the time of giving an opioid drug when going home from the hospital or on a temporary pass.
