Yeast (Candida) is a fungus, which often lives in humans. Too much yeast can lead to an infection. It can be found in the baby’s mouth (called ‘thrush’) and/or diaper area. It can also be found in the vagina and on the skin or nipples of the breastfeeding/chest feeding parent. This pamphlet describes the signs to watch for and how the infection is treated. Normally before a baby boy is born, the testicles move into the scrotum (the sac that holds the testicles). Sometimes, though, one or both testicles stay in the body cavity instead of moving into the scrotum. This is called undescended testicles or cryptorchidism, which means "hidden testicle." An orchidopexy is an operation to lower the testicles into the scrotum. (English)
