Atrial Fibrillation: What to do for my health (Fraser Health) [Chinese - Traditional] Permalink Public

Atrial Fibrillation (or A-Fib) is a common heart rhythm problem. The electrical signals that control the heartbeat become irregular and cause the upper part of the heart to quiver (or fibrillate). When this happens, the heart can’t pump very well. It is not life threatening, but needs treatment to prevent complications. When blood is not flowing properly through the heart, it can clot. If a clot travels to the brain, it can cause a stroke. (Chinese - Traditional) Colour

Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT) [Chinese - Traditional] Permalink Public

Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) is a small electronic device used to treat heart failure. It delivers tiny amounts of electrical impulses to the heart causing both ventricles to pump together in a coordinated way. There are 2 types of these devices: a CRT pacemaker (CRT-P) and a CRT defibrillator (CRT-D). Both can send an electrical impulse to your heart, triggering a heartbeat when needed. A CRT-D can also deliver a life-saving shock to return the heart rhythm back to normal. (Chinese - Traditional)
